Two women plead guilty to insurance fraud

Charleston Daily Mail: "Two Kanawha County women have pleaded guilty on separate charges of insurance fraud and a Mercer County man has been indicted on a felony charge of insurance fraud, West Virginia Insurance Commissioner Jane Cline announced.

Gloria Dunlap of Elkview and Barbara Bostic of Chelyan pleaded guilty Monday on separate fraud charges, Cline said.

Dunlap, 43, was indicted in November on two felony counts of workers' compensation insurance fraud for allegedly withholding information from her treating physician in order to obtain additional benefits to which she was not entitled, according to a statement issued by Cline's office.

As part of a plea agreement, Dunlap pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor count of wrongfully seeking workers' compensation benefits and has agreed to pay restitution in an amount that will be determined later by the Kanawha County Probation Department, Cline's office said. Dunlap's sentencing is scheduled May 8."
