Parents reunite to find justice

Parents reunite to find justice | Ocala.com | Star-Banner | Ocala, Fla.: "Two people torn apart by a bitter divorce, and who have wildly conflicting stories about their marriage and child custody dispute over Jessica, were together again last week - in a courtroom to finally hear the words they both needed to hear.

Mark Lunsford and Angela Bryant both got the justice they were seeking when their daughter's killer, John Couey, was found guilty by a jury in Miami.

The divorced parents, who until last week had very little contact since Jessica's birth in 1995, were cordial. They spoke a few times during the trial, though their conversations lasted no more than one to two minutes.

After court proceedings, Lunsford did his usual thing. He got up in front of the cameras and urged politicians to financially back child protection legislation. Bryant stood off at a distance, looked in his direction and lit a cigarette. With her sister, Beulah Le, by her side, Bryant would then walk down the courthouse steps toward her car."
