Investigator Recommends Firing NU Chemistry Professor

Investigator Recommends Firing NU Chemistry Professor - News Archive: "An outside investigator appointed by University of Nebraska president J-B Milliken has recommended that a chemistry professor accused of having explosives in his class be fired.

Last fall, University police arrested John Belot, Jr., 38, after he was accused of passing around a bag of explosives in his class.

A student reported to police that Belot passed around a paper sack of explosives, each about the size of a roll of quarters.

Belot later was charged with possession of a destructive device, but prosecutors dismissed the charge earlier this month when he agreed to participate in a pretrial diversion program."
