Ex-top cop 'private eye' faces court

Ex-top cop 'private eye' faces court - Yahoo!7 News: "A former Queensland police deputy chief has become the first person to be charged with operating as a private investigator without a licence, the state government says.

Former Queensland police deputy commissioner David Blizzard appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Wednesday, charged with acting as a private investigator without a licence.

A spokeswoman from the Office of Fair Trading, which brought the action against Blizzard, said the possible maximum penalty for a single breach of the Security Providers Act 1993 was $7,500.

'This is the first prosecution of a private investigator for operating without a licence,' the spokeswoman said in a statement."
