KUSD background checks questioned: "A teacher and coach at Kingman High School was hired at the start of the 2005-2006 school year despite having been convicted of a minor offense against a juvenile stemming from a highly publicized hazing incident in Winslow in 2000 that involved several basketball players on a team that he coached.
Danny Gonzalez was hired as a science teacher and assistant girls basketball coach after reportedly being interviewed by then girls head coach and science department chair Darrin Peppard, KHS Principal Pat Mickelson and KUSD Assistant Superintendent Betsy Parker. He became the girls head basketball coach this year when Peppard left to accept a position in Wyoming."
