Las Vegas SUN: Elko County woman arrested on suspicion of murdering mother: "A 51-year-old Elko County woman with a criminal record that includes elder abuse has been arrested on suspicion of murdering her 76-year-old mother, authorities said.
Mary Lou Wise's body was found partially buried Friday afternoon in the backyard of the Deeth home she shared with her daughter, Teresa Wise, about 35 miles east of Elko off Interstate 80, said Elko County Undersheriff Rocky Gonzalez.
Teresa Wise was arrested without incident later in the day after returning to the home, located behind the ranching community's post office.
The victim is a former Deeth postmaster and another daughter, Doris, is the current postmaster, said Sheriff Dale Lotspeich.
Authorities did not know Doris' last name, but said she called the sheriff's office after finding blood in the house.
'(The victim) was in a shallow grave, with brush over the body,' Gonzalez told the Elko Daily Free Press."
