WBAY-TV Green Bay-Fox Cities-Northeast Wisconsin News: Arson Investigator Testifies in Halbach Murder: "An arson expert testified Wednesday morning in Steven Avery's murder trial. Prosecutors say Avery and his nephew Brendan Dassey killed Teresa Halbach in October, 2005, and burned her remains.
State Department of Justice arson investigator Bill Pevytoe led the investigation of burned items across the Avery salvage yard property.
Pevytoe told jurors how they searched all possible burn areas, including a wood boiler and a metal smelter on the salvage yard property where they found no evidence, and the burn pit behind Steven Avery's garage where they did find evidence."
