Woman arrested for life insurance fraud

NBC2 News Online - Woman arrested for life insurance fraud: "A Punta Gorda woman turned herself in on Friday to face insurance fraud charges and her arrest ended a two year investigation.

Authorities say Gloria Davis Anderson, 57, claimed to be the beneficiary of her broth-in-law's life insurance policy - when the money was actually supposed to go to her daughter-in-law, Tammy Carter.

Perry Anderson originally named Gloria's husband, his brother, as the beneficiary of his $25,000 life insurance policy. But he later changed it to his daughter, Carter.

When Perry died, Gloria told investigators she 'hatched up a little scheme.' She sent correspondence to the insurance company, AFLAC, stating that she was Tammy Carter in order to get the money."
