Times are changing for kids in school and school policies are changing right along with them.
Starting this year, Lubbock Independent School District is making every school volunteer, including parents, fill out a criminal history background check. NewsChannel 11's Jennifer Vogel asks questions about how this new system will mean even more safety for students.
This policy comes one year after David Kennimer was found guilty of sneaking onto the Dupree Elementary campus, taking pictures of little girls and molesting one of them. During his October 3rd trial the principal said they did do a criminal background check on Kennimer, but the results didn't come back until too late. Now, LISD has a new policy and a new company that will get results faster.
